A German mobile network operator headquartered in Bonn, Germany, T-Mobile is the UK network of T-Mobile international. Previously known as One 2 One in the UK, the company was originally owned by Mercury, and then by Cable & Wireless.

T-Mobile went through a transformation and now boasts 19.2 million subscribers in Britain, which has made it the second largest mobile network in the UK.  The company operates across Europe and the USA and worldwide, now has reached over 100 million customers.

T-Mobile offers both contract and PAYG services, as well as a bundle package known as 'U-Fix'.  Possible T-Mobile's biggest selling point in the UK, it combines attributes of pay-as-you-go and contract, so that when your monthly allowance is used up you will have to purchase credit, without doing so you cannot make any calls, this eliminates the fear of an enormous bill.

Other companies market service on the T-Mobile network under their own brand names, most notably, Value Telecom, which offers low peak time call charges but very high off-peak charges, and Virgin Mobile.  Virgin Mobile has no monthly line rental, and offers the best value for money for most patterns of use.

Coverage Map:

T-Mobile is a GSM 1800 network. The company claim 99% population coverage of the UK and are now catching up with their rivals, however, it has not had the best reputation outside of urban areas in the past.
