Orange UK is a mobile phone operator as well as an internet service provider in the UK, which was founded in 1994.

The company is owned by Orange SA, a subsidiary of France Telecom. They took control after a sequence of previous ownerships, (initially owned by a consortium of Hutchison and British Aerospace).

In 1994 Orange entered the UK mobile market as the fourth entrant at a time when prices were very high, and in reality, only within reach to business customers.  By 1997 the company was floated on the London Stock Exchange and by July 2007, Orange had gained 1 million customers in the UK alone. In 1999 Orange extended its mobile services to other European markets, such as Spain and France.
